The poor are getting poorer, despite the increasing amount of aid funds going into relief projects. Although relief is necessary after disasters, it does little to alleviate poverty with it's hunger, inadequate housing, disease and lack of education.

JDA believes poverty and it's consequences can be alleviated through transformational development --- a deeply rooted change in world view, values, attitudes, actions and relationship structures. bettering economic, political, social, and spiritual behavior. transforming individuals, families, and communities.
