In some Central Asian regions, one out of every 4 children will die before they reach 5 years of age due largely to water-borne diseases.

JDA has provided access to clean water by drilling and digging water wells and installing hand pumps on more than 600 wells. Where communities do not have access to shallow water, they are learning new appropriate techniques in purifying their water through solar water disinfection. Community health education programs are being conducted covering such topics as hygiene, nutrition, water treatment, first aid, family planning, alcoholism and drug addition.

Humanitarian Aid and Relief

In regions where there is war, conflict, natural disasters, great transition and change the first response to the needs of people should be humanitarian aid and relief support.

JDA's response to needs in communities is usually first with humanitarian aid, helping provide food, shelter, water, and social and spiritual support.
